Elden Ring is certainly a challenging game, but by no means an impossible one. Judging by Steam’s achievements, just over a third of players eventually make it through the game, either by becoming Lord of Elden or by getting one of the other possible endings, depending on the player’s actions.
What is surprising here, however, is that, judging by Steam’s achievements, the default ending loses out to an ending in which you have to put in extra effort.
25.6% of players unlocked the Star Age achievement, and only 18.5% of players unlocked Lord of Elden. Of course, it’s worth considering that some players may have gone through the game to get one ending and then gone through it again to unlock another.
What’s interesting here is that “Star Age” requires the most effort. To help Renny escape from Meantime, you have to do a few things that are easy to miss without the guides. There are also a few optional bosses and areas required to collect everything you need to become Renny’s consort. On the other hand, the Lord of Elden ending is impossible to screw up, and at any rate, you will unlock this achievement. So it’s surprising to see that the Elden Ring community was interested in getting an alternate (and considered better) ending.
